THE POWER OF STORIES
Everyone loves good stories. A good story will take you to another world, another plane of existence. In this parallel universe, you will live a different life, breathe different air. You will laugh and cry over events that take place only in this imaginary world, and when the time comes to leave that magical place, you might even shed tears because it’s over. You look back with longing, wishing you could remain a part of the life you are leaving. Reality is not nearly as appealing.
Such is the power of imagination. A storyteller has the power to shape your emotions and change the way you see the world. The mark it leaves on your heart is invisible, but powerful. Stories inspire great good and great evil, and the role of a storyteller is a huge responsibility. The ripples spread and grow, often without the knowledge of the storyteller, and the power for evil or good grows exponentially.
The storyteller creates the story partly from the well of ideas that will just not stay inside, that absolutely must be expressed, and partly from the power and passion gained by the knowledge that others feast on the creation with rich enjoyment. Together they take an invisible journey, unknown to each other, the storyteller and the reader, linked only by the imagination of each, a symbiotic relationship that is infinitely pleasing and wonderfully satisfying to both. Stories have the power to unite in a way that no other medium can.
So I hope you will enjoy the stories you find here as much as I have enjoyed creating them. And I hope, in some way, that they will inspire you to see the world in a better way, to find the good around you, and perhaps even shed some light on the pathway of another. Happy reading 🙂
