Kate Cox

Hi! I’m Kate Cox. I’m passionate about good health, thriving relationships, and writing. I write for those kindred spirits who want to enjoy abundant good health and fulfilling relationships. I enjoy sharing stories of faith and inspiration.  And as a mum, writing for and about kids and young people interests me. Hey, let’s face it, I just love writing!

Where it all began

I trained as a horticultural manager, spending years in the industry – valuable years that gave me a lot of insight into what makes a business work, management practices, and working with people.

However, it wasn’t quite enough to satisfy my soul. I always had the desire to write, and after I married Michael, and had two young children (TD, now 9, and Rosie, 7), I also needed an occupation that was a bit more time flexible. Finally, I realized that my dream of writing was so important to me that I would forever regret it if I didn’t pursue it. It’s not easy to believe in yourself, and fear and doubt are tempting masters to follow. But how could I handle the regret if I gave up?

What drives my dream? I want to serve others as a writer. That’s it. I want my words to make a difference to someone else. I want to add value to someone else’s day or to someone else’s life. If I can use my words for good, if I can inspire or inform or encourage just one person, that’s what fuels my passion. That’s what floats my boat.

My Tribe

Are you one of my people? You will know if you are. My people are those who look for the good in the world. They are the ones who value honesty and compassion. These people practice small acts of kindness when no one is looking. They are the people who want the best out of their health and relationships and family life – but who want to achieve it by treading gently around others. These are also the people who are fair and ethical in their professional lives, treating those in their circle with consideration and respect. This is my tribe.

Of course, everyone has their quirks, and I’m no exception. Vegetarian since birth, I have to confess, I have no idea how to cook meat! I can whip up delicious vegetarian meals…but (no offence to my carnivorous friends) if someone asked me to cook meat, I’d be reaching for the mask and gloves. Then I’d be asking for step by step instructions – illustrated and in colour. (You get the picture!). It’s BYO meat if you come to dinner at my house.

Join Me On The Journey

So join me as we explore the world of words together – laugh with me at some of the funny things that happen in the realm of parenting and partners. Think about a topic from a different angle. Relax with a cuppa (that good old Aussie word) and enjoy the stories. Be inspired on your journey to good health and better relationships. Walk beside me for a glimpse of life’s journey, a journey that is reflected in the name, Roadmumma. I live out of town and spend a lot of time on the road, mostly driving my kids to school and other places. But more than that, I see life as a journey, and I believe that we have the privilege of sharing our journeys with each other. I believe one of the reasons we are on this earth is to walk beside each other here and there. Enjoy!

Kate 🙂
